After School music care
Our unique before and after school music program takes all the hassle out of your busy schedule so your child can have their music lesson and still get to school on time.
Imperial Artistry has been a guiding force in Inner West music lessons on piano, trumpet, flute and guitar for over a decade. We offer a balanced and pragmatic teaching approach tailored to the needs of each individual child. We strongly believe that artistry of an instrument stems not only from a holistic understanding of the art form, but also a desire to connect to people through it. Music is a social art form, and our preferred approach utilises a blend of private lessons, and group work.
Initially conceived as a short-term project at Bourke St. Public School - and offering only piano lessons - our success has allowed Imperial Artistry to broaden its horizons. We now offer tuition in 6 instruments; 2 theatre courses; host 12 teachers; provide yearly recitals, and holiday workshops; and teach between 60 and 70 students a week - with every desire to do more!
Whilst still only a young company, our teachers' patience, positivity, and practical experience allows us to punch well above our weight. At Imperial Artistry, we strongly believe that a warm, encouraging learning environment fosters a love of the art form in our students, and frees them to enjoy the craft of learning the piano; and so avoid getting bogged down and frustrated over the individual steps. Our courses are designed to work either in conjunction with school activities (such as band, or a theatre production), and so allow the students to immediately use their new-found skills to connect with their peers on a practical, fundamental level - through the use of a shared performance language. In addition, musical training is an excellent way to teach students focus, diligence, and gives them a very tangible method of keeping track of their performance. In short: a musical education is a great way to gain a sense of achievement, build relationships with peers, and so: build confidence!
If you're interested in joining our family, please don't hesitate to send us an inquiry about one of our courses or workshops. We're always happy to take on new students, and we'd love to hear from you!
Thank you, and we hope to hear from you soon!
